NEW SIGHTS IN STORE FOR PARKER

A whole new world will open for Parker after surgery to correct vision problems he was born with. Parker, an orphan child from South Korea, spent six years waiting for just the right family to adopt him. Parker has cross eyes and optic nerve damage. surgery will correct his double vision and enable him to see somewhat better. The optic nerve damage is likely irreversible.

Parker is being adopted by Carrie and Bob who live on a Michigan farm. Parker now has five brothers, several dogs, cats and assorted other animals to play with. To say that it is wild around the house is certainly an understatement! Parker is fitting in well and beginning to speak English in full sentences. Right now, he loves to watch tv. "So there he is, dead center in front of the tube and the other boys are constantly yelling "Parker, get out of the way!", says his mother. "If nothing else, the noise level should be reduced around here" she jokes.

One of the most thrilling sights for Parker was experiencing his first snow fall. "He tilts his little face up in the air and tries to catch the snow flakes on his tongue. He loves laying in it and grabbing big fistfuls of snow." Snow is a rare commodity in Seoul, so Parker had never seen the white stuff before coming to the U.S.

Parker's horizons will be broadened soon and he can't wait to "see" what this new world will be like.
