The day after the detector was installed, the furnace failed. The alarm sounded and an elderly woman dialed 911. Post Falls arrived before damage occurred. A fire started in a home in St. Mary's, PA, the family was renting. All four family members, including their newborn baby, were able to escape, thanks to the Elk County newborn smoke alarm giveaway program.
